They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
The medication is for topical use in the mouth or throat. Do not swallow this medication unless you have been told to. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Use a specially marked spoon or container to measure the solution. Ask your pharmacist if you do not have one. If you have a sore place in your mouth, you can apply the medication with a cotton-tipped applicator. The solution can be swished around the mouth or gargled. Take your medication at regular intervals. Do not take your medication more often than directed.
Do not use this medication in infants and children for teething pain.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. Special care may be needed.
People over 65 years may have a stronger reaction and need a smaller dose.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

Be careful to avoid injury while the area is numb and you are not aware of pain. If this medication is used in the mouth or throat, do not chew gum or eat food for at least 1 hour. If the area is still numb, you may choke or bite your tongue or cheek if you try to chew or swallow. Also, you may not feel pain from hot foods or drinks.
