How much time is involved in obtaining and adjusting to wearing hearing aids?
Several appointments will be needed to select and then fit the hearing aids. Appointment times may range from a short appointment (less than 30 minutes) to an extended appointment (60 minutes). Follow-up hearing aid checks can be scheduled to address any specific needs you have.
What fees are associated with obtaining hearing aids?
- Hearing aid evaluation (HAE). There is a fee for the hearing aid evaluation (HAE) which may or may not be covered by your health insurance plan.
- Hearing devices The prices will vary for the actual devices and will be determined based on the level of technology, features and style of the devices. We encourage you to check with your insurance carrier to determine if hearing aids are a covered expense. Some insurance plans require you obtain the devices from a specific party.
- Professional services In addition to the expense of the actual devices, there will be fees to cover the professional services provided to you for a set amount of time. The fees will vary depending on the type of service needed.
What about hearing aid returns?
After hearing aids are purchased, you have the right to return the devices within the Right-to-Return period. You will receive a full refund for the cost of the hearing aids, minus the non-refundable fitting fee. NOTE: The devices must be returned within the designated time period and must be in good working condition.
What happens if my devices require repairs?
All new hearing aids are covered by at least a 1-year warranty for service. There is no charge for any repair required during the warranty period. After the warranty period, there is a fee for the repair which typically includes another one-year repair warranty until the device is 5 years old
What happens if I lose one of my devices?
Most devices also have a loss and damage warranty to cover the loss of the device one time. A small processing fee will be assessed when ordering the replacement device.
