Description
The purpose of this study is to learn why the immune system in some people targets different regionals of the central nervous system (CNS), and also determine whether there are certain markers that could indicate increased risk for future lesions/relapses.
Activities include a blood draw and biobanking of the sample, testing for levels of markers and genes in the blood, and review of electronic medical records (including brain and spinal cord images).

Inclusion Criteria
- Age 18-65
- Initial CNS demyelinating event in past 3 months
- Healthy controls without history of neurological conditions
Exclusion Criteria
- Use of immunosuppressive/immunomodulatory therapies in past 6 months (including steroids)
