Helping You Make an Impact
Now we’re making it even easier for caregivers to apply for funding for innovative ideas.
The Philanthropy Institute and Innovations & Ventures have collaborated to offer a single Letter of Intent (LOI) process. This will streamline the application process for multiple funding awards available to caregivers.
You can now submit a single LOI in order to be invited to apply for grant funding from one of these two programs:
Frequently Asked Questions
Why was the application process for these grant programs combined?
There are many funding opportunities across the enterprise for caregivers. We have listened to your feedback and found an easier way for you to find the right funding for your project. This new combined process will maximize every caregiver's potential for project funding, allowing you to apply for both funding opportunities at once.
Who should apply?
All caregivers*, regardless of role and including medical students and residents, are encouraged to apply.
*Please note: We are not currently accepting submissions from Abu Dhabi, Canada or London caregivers.
What kinds of projects are you looking for?
Both programs fund healthcare innovation projects. Eligible projects could include but are not limited to, ideas in:
- Care Delivery Improvement
- Clinical Outcomes
- Health Information Technology
- Medical Device
- Patient Support Programs
- Quality Improvement
- Therapeutics & Diagnostic Innovation

What are the requirements to get funding?
The requirements are the same to submit an LOI for both programs and are due by March 8, 2021. You must complete all fields in the submission form. The person submitting the LOI must be the primary person responsible for spending the grant award.
Should your LOI be selected to apply to either funding program, you will be notified of the applicable funding amounts, selection criteria and timelines for submitting the full application.
Should I request funding from one specific program?
No. With a single LOI, your proposal will be eligible for both programs. A screening committee will determine which program your proposal is most suited for based on your area of focus and requested funding amount, as well as other factors.
When do I have to apply?
Your Letters of Intent are due Monday, March 8, 2021.
What happens next?
Once you submit your LOI, our committee will evaluate it against the requirements and guidelines of the two funding programs. You will be notified of the next steps if you are selected to apply to one of the programs.
