Caregiver Grants

Everything starts with an idea.

Helping You Make an Impact

Now we’re making it even easier for caregivers to apply for funding for innovative ideas.

Cleveland Clinic caregivers are full of innovative ideas to improve care for our patients and communities. There are many granting programs across the enterprise available to provide funding to bring these ideas to life. Whether you have an idea for a new patient program, a novel medical technology, or a way to improve care coordination, there are caregivers who want to hear about it and donors who want to help make it possible.

The philanthropy-funded caregiver grant programs below offer competitions to apply for seed funding to get your idea off the ground.

Grant application chart

Here’s how and when you can apply:

Winter Cycle

The Philanthropy Institute and Cleveland Clinic Innovations offer a single application process each winter for their granting programs. You can submit one application to apply for these two programs:

All caregivers are invited to apply here.

Upon submission, proposals will be eligible for both funding opportunities. A screening committee will determine which program your project is most suited for based on your area of focus, requested funding amount, and other factors.

Summer Cycle

The Philanthropy Institute hosts a second competition each summer for:

All caregivers are invited to apply here.

The same process and criteria apply as the winter cycle. The only difference is, applications are only eligible for Caregiver Catalyst Grants.

FAQs

Why was the application process for the winter cycle combined for two programs?

There are many donor-sponsored internal funding opportunities across the enterprise. We found an easier way for you to find the right funding for your project. The combined process maximizes every caregiver's potential for project funding.

Who should apply?

All caregivers, regardless of role and including medical students and residents, are encouraged to apply for all programs. (*We are not currently accepting submissions from London caregivers)

What kinds of projects are you looking for?

Each program funds healthcare innovation projects. Eligible projects could include, but are not limited to, ideas in research, medical devices, care delivery improvement, and patient support programs. You can find examples of previously funded projects from each grant program at the links above.

What happens after I apply?

If applying during the winter cycle for the combined application:

  • Each program’s committee will evaluate your application against the requirements and guidelines of the funding programs. If selected for funding, you will be notified of next steps from the individual program(s).

If applying during the summer cycle for Caregiver Catalyst Grants:

  • The Caregiver Catalyst Grants screening committee will evaluate your proposal against the requirements and notify you about the results toward the end of the year.
