A Top U.S. Hospital
Once again, Cleveland Clinic has been named the No. 2 hospital in the nation and the No. 1 hospital for heart care in U.S. News & World Report’s “2020-21 Best Hospitals” rankings.
This is the 26th consecutive year that Cleveland Clinic has earned the No. 1 ranking in Cardiology & Heart Surgery and the 22nd year in a row that it has earned a Top 5 overall ranking.

In all, 13 Cleveland Clinic specialties were recognized with Top 10 rankings: Cancer (5), Cardiology & Heart Surgery (1), Diabetes & Endocrinology (6), Ear, Nose & Throat (16), Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (3), Geriatrics (2), Gynecology (2), Nephrology (Kidney Disorders) (5), Neurology & Neurosurgery (9), Ophthalmology (10), Orthopedics (9), Pulmonology (4), Rheumatology (2), Urology (4).

U.S. News also ranks hospitals by locality. This year, Cleveland Clinic has the No. 1-ranked hospitals in Ohio, as well as the metro areas of Cleveland and Akron. Of the Top 5 hospitals in Ohio, three are Cleveland Clinic hospitals — Main campus (1), Hillcrest (4) and Fairview (5). Additionally, Cleveland Clinic Weston has been named No. 1 in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Metro area for the third straight year.

About the Rankings
The U.S. News rankings were developed to help patients, families and physicians determine the hospitals that provide the best care for serious or complicated medical conditions or procedures. The rankings recognize the top 50 children’s hospitals in 10 medical specialties, determined based on a number of criteria, including:
- Hospital survival rates.
- Nurse staffing.
- Sub-specialist availability.
In addition to the data, pediatric specialists were asked to recommend the hospitals they consider best for children with challenging problems.

Cleveland Clinic Florida's Weston Hospital ranked #1 in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale metro area and is a top hospital in Florida, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “2020-21 Best Hospitals” rankings.
Overall, Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital tied for the No. 5 ranking in the state of Florida. Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital tied for No. 19, and Cleveland Clinic Martin Health tied for No. 28 as well.

Cleveland Clinic Florida continues to be recognized as a leader in quality clinical care as well. The Gastroenterology & GI Surgery Program at Weston continues to be recognized nationally, as it was ranked 29th in the United States. It is the only Gastroenterology & GI surgery Program in South Florida to be ranked nationally and one of only four in the state.
In addition to the local and state-wide rankings, four of Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital specialties ranked “high performing” for 2020-21. Those specialties recognized as high performing were Geriatrics, Nephrology, Neurology & Neurosurgery and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery.
