Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Great doctor

Reviewed on Mar 21, 2024

Dr. Husni Is very thorough. She apologized for my wait time, even though I was the one who was early for the appointment. The care I received is excellent. She involves me in my treatment plan and decisions surrounding it. She really listens to what I have to say regarding my pain levels and medications and how those are working to make my life better.

Reviewed on Mar 21, 2024

I have multiple allergies and Dr. Husni wanted to prescribe a different medication there was a conflict with. She said she had to check with the pharmacy to work around that and see if there was an alternative. Though I have not heard back from her office since my appointment and I do not see her for 6 month, I assume I am to remain on my current medications established by Dr. Perhala. I appreciated verification by Dr. Husni that not a lot has improved in the treatment of joint laxity and osteoarthritis. I have suffered for years and so has my family, yet researchers still do not have drugs to slow osteoarthritis deterioration or stem cell research to help advanced joint damage.

Reviewed on Jan 25, 2024

She was wonderful. I've gotten used to mediocre or dismissive providers and Dr. Husni totally exceeded my expectations. She listened, took every question seriously, and spent a lot of time with me

Reviewed on Jan 11, 2024

Dr Husni went out of her way and complicated her schedule to help me with an unplanned injection

Reviewed on Dec 14, 2023

Dr Husni listens to my concerns and explains my options. I appreciate and trust her expertise and understanding of my health.
