Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 11/27/2018, Dr. Adhami has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Click here to view a listing of instances where Cleveland Clinic has identified a Public Health Service (PHS)-Reportable Financial Conflict of Interest and has put measures in place to ensure that, to the extent possible, the design, conduct and reporting of the research is free from bias.

Dr. had minimal empathy. Just another patient. Didn't get back to me about test results until after I sent multiple emails. Still hasn't responded to follow up questions. Not a good representative of a "caring" organization. Will be looking for another provider.

I have no out patients experience with him. I saw him in the hospital only. Dr.Adhami is very knowledgeable and great communicator.

My appt was scheduled at 1:40pm. I arrived at 1:12 pm. The doctor kept me waiting for 45 minutes. He came into the exam room at 2:25pm.

Reviewed on Apr 9, 2019

There was very little eye contact during the visit. My overall feeling was that the Dr. was distracted & in a hurry. He entered the room said hello, shook my hand & went straight to the computer screen. He never inquired how I was doing or feeling. He instructed me to schedule some procedures, but there was little opportunity to ask questions or discuss concerns. When he was done at the computer he got up & exited the room. I left feeling rushed & frustrated & with more questions than I went in with.

Very knowledgeable physician with compassion

This was my first appointment with Dr Talahl having been referred by my GP. I didn't have any Waite time. He spent a great deal of time asking questions, inputting responses and reviewing my Cleveland Clinic medical history. I am very pleased and satisfied with his professionalism.

Very attentive. Set my next appointment with Dr Tahal while there in the office so I wouldn't have to go through the dreadful phone process to set my next appointment.

Dr and all staff very curtious and follow up with Dr was good

Reviewed on Jun 7, 2018

Only rated ability to get appt very poor because it took a month to get in to see this Doctor. My Rheumatologist wanted me in sooner to find out what is going on with my liver but again I was not able to get an earlier appt. I have a test July 6th and can't get back in to this Doctor till the end of July. With all that is going on I would like to see the Doctor sooner to find out my test results and where we will go next for this problem I am having.

This doctor put his finger in my room with no warning at all and while I was 100% not sedated. This was mortifying, embarrassing, and caused a fissure. This was extremely unprofessional and I am beyond upset about this experience. This gentleman had absolutely no bedside manner or professionalism about himself.
