Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 8/1/2019, Dr. Oguh has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Click here to view a listing of instances where Cleveland Clinic has identified a Public Health Service (PHS)-Reportable Financial Conflict of Interest and has put measures in place to ensure that, to the extent possible, the design, conduct and reporting of the research is free from bias.

Physician took her time during the appointment and did not rush me. She explained everything very well

Dr. Oguh was simply fabulous! she spent a lot of time getting my history and discussing my treatment plan. And I felt treated well, and really seen!

the doctor Aguh and Lilliana were very proffessional when explaining and conducting the study. Lilliana would also make sure that I understood everything that we were doing. and went above and beyond to make sure there was no misunderstanding. after talking to her about what dhe diskenizia was and where it was coming from, I understood better.

Reviewed on Sep 20, 2019

Dr. Oguh is very professional and thorough. Although our diagnosis and prognosis is not good so we were left without much hope regarding treatment and the future. Would still like some direction regarding ongoing home care issues due to his lack of mobility.

great staff and doctors

Dr. Oguh has a very good 'bed-side' manner. She listened intently to what my partner and I had to say. We were part of any decisions made.

very excited to transfer my care to Cleveland clinic. I felt very confident with Dr Oguh.

Reviewed on Sep 6, 2019

Dr. Ohue was very systematic in her questions to me, obviously discarding factors that had no bearing on my Rapid Leg Movement issue. She was extremely thoro and exacting in reviewing all the medications I am taking and the effect they have had on me. Within a very short time, I felt extremely comfortable with her and my confidence level in her knowledge and skills as a specialist in my disorder was through the ceiling. As a 25-year police officer and patient, I've had far more interaction with medical facilities, nurses, and doctors than most people and I would place the doctor at, or near the top of all I have been around.

Reviewed on Aug 29, 2019

Dr. Oguh listened to BOTH of us - with great patience. We appreciated that very much!

Reviewed on Aug 29, 2019

We would give Dr. Oguh five stars. Really liked everything about her - even when delivering potentially bad news.
