Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 12/9/2019, Dr. Munzar has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Best experience with a doctor in my 26 years of life! Asked questions regarding my social circumstances (where I live, if I'm stressed, my relationship) and practiced extremely thoughtful LGBTQ competency. He made me feel very comfortable talking about my partner.

I have to think everyone at the Cleveland clinic, from the people who answer and make the calls to the doctors! The service is always first rate!! Your staff goes above and beyond, I felt very safe for my first in-house appointment in a long time. I appreciated the fact that my wait time was short, and I could see all the precautions the staff was taking to make it as safe as possible during these trying times. Thank you just doesn't seem to be quite enough.

I'm so grateful to have Dr. Munzar as my doctor. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Reviewed on Jul 8, 2020

On all my past physical checkups I have always had blood work done before the appointment so the Dr. could review& then discuss the results. I also do not feel that a complete physical was performed or that I should have to tell the Dr. what all I want checked. I feel the Drs. office should call my insurance if there is any questions as to what is covered or should be performed.

great talk with doctor took his time with me

The doctor that I was randomly scheduled with at first listen to everything I had to say! Then assured me that me asking about brain cancer that I possibly couldn't be the 1% likely to get it and it's not something to worry about. then I've been taking the same medication on my chart and he randomly prescribed me the wrong medication. I shouldn't have to go to the doctor and then for them to say he had other patients to get to and that everything that I am trying to discuss as a patient and a concern for me health is cut short! he also went on describing how we don't live in a perfect world and the things that I was talking are real health problems. leaving there only have had one of my 6 problems resolved! terrible experience from a doctor and if the doctor is feeling like he doesn't have enough time with the patient and the patient is also saying something then their needs to be a change. it's called networking and I hope you can network this message forward please and thank you! my time and my health is a priority to me considering I am a father to 4!

Dr. Munzar is an extremely competent, compassionate Doctor. I am beyond fortunate to have found him. He asks the tough questions, and he doesn't shy away from the difficult conversations (i.e. alcoholism and obesity). I appreciate his manner AND his manners in addressing these issues and others. He is skilled, interpersonally and medically. I have and will continue to recommend him to others.
