Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

We waited an hour and a half before we saw Dr. Mari. He spoke to the nurse practitioner about the length of our wait, as though he didn't understand why we had to wait so long. I appreciated his concern about the delay.

The doctor listened very carefully to me and my concerns; he was most helpful in instructing me in what could be done, and in letting me know that there is more than one treatment for my various conditions. He was most gracious.

First visit with Dr. Mari and he gave up his lunch so he could schedule my appointment within a week. He spent a lot of time with me, trying to adjust my equipment to control my tremors. he always explained what he was doing and made sure I was comfortable. Never did I feel rushed or that someone else was more important. Dr. Mari is truly as asset to Cleveland Clinic and I am so happy he is my doctor helping me with my DBS equipment.

This doctor was incredibly interested in my health problems associated with my Parkinson's, I felt very at ease with him and comfortable. He was very friendly and forth coming with any medical and prescription questions/concerns I have. I am looking forward to continuing and advancing the care for my Parkinson's condition in the near future.

Really took the time to understand all aspects of my grandmother's overall health situation - a thorough review of records, previous tests, medications, and our concerns. Put together a strategy and plan for the next 90 days and we left optimistic and happier than at any other doctor visit in the past year.
