Shakuntala (Rita) Kothari, MD is a Staff physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus. Dr. Kothari came to the Cleveland Clinic in 1996 as a clinical associate in the Department of General Internal Medicine, where she remained, rising from assistant staff to associate staff to her current position. Dr. Kothari's specialty interests include contraception, menopause, vaginitis and other women's health issues. Dr. Kothari completed her medical degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic. Board-certified by the American College of Physicians, Dr. Kothari is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the American Medical Women’s Association. She is also a Fellow in the American College of Physicians.
She edits the women’s health section of The Cleveland Clinic: Current Clinical Medicine.
