Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 10/4/2018, Dr. Young has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Young is always excellent in explaining options and treatment and working to answer all my questions, even though time is limited. She is aware of the time and helps me know where we are in the visit so that I can be sure to get all my concerns addressed. She is very caring and very professional.

Dr Young gets what FM patients go through, listens intently and includes the pt. in the discussion.

first available future appointments are always beyond time the doctor recommends but when put on a wait list good appropriate times come available.

Dr. Young does a great job of answering my questions and explaining results/treatment plan, however, the new shorter visit time ( 30 minute vs. prior 45 minute ) does not allow enough time to cover the complexity of what needs to be discussed.

Dr. Young's kindness coupled with her expertise is why I make the 2.5 hour drive to see her. She is very good at what she does and my health has vastly improved since being in her care.

Dr. Melissa Young is one of the best doctors that I've ever had, she is wonderful, helpful and very compassionate. I was sick for many years with no answers until I saw her, she actually listens which is rare of alot if doctors these days. The only issue is getting an appointment with her because she is in such high demand. The nurses that work with her, Melody and the other girls are so very helpful and kind too.

Dr Young is a wonderful doctor, therefore, she is in high demand and booked for months in advance.

I thought my appointment was for 45 minutes, but it only lasted 30. It was too rushed, especially since this was my first visit to this provider. She did have a fresh approach to my health concerns and made some good decisions regarding my treatment.

The doctor tells you to come back to the Center for Functional Medicine for next appt in a certain amount of weeks but there isn't an opening in the schedule til over a month or two later!

Very, very unhappy with time allotted to spend with doctor has been decreased. I may try to find a doctor out of the Cleveland Clinic system because of this. The appointment was such a rush that I couldn't comprehend half of what the doctor was telling me.

Too quick. Could not comprehend all she was telling me. Not the doctor's fault!

it is very frustrating when the doctor says she needs to see you back in 8-10 weeks and you can't get another appointment for 6 months. That is unacceptable. Either hire more doctors at this location or don't continue to accept new patients. Super frustrating!!

Dr Young is wonderful. She really cares, listens and her experience in invaluable. The whole Functional Medicine team at Chagrin Falls is excellent. We need more staffers there, it is far more convenient and easier than dealing with the Main Campus.

Doctor was running a little behind and we were informed. The wait time was not long and she did not rush my appointment.
Reviewed on May 2, 2018
Dr. Young was extremely courteous and patient with me. Asked all the right questions and spent good quality time talking with me and not TO me. She is an excellent provider.
Reviewed on May 1, 2018
II have nothing to say about the care provided. Dr Young is excellent in knowledge, delivery, care, attentiveness and listening to my needs. The problem lies in the fact that although she would like to see me in 4 to 6 weeks from my appt on May 1, the appt I received is on Oct 2nd, which is 5 MONTHS away. That is literally all I have to say. Every experience at CC FM has been great, but my care is complicated and due to the lengthy time between appointments I am concerned how this will effect the recovery of my health.
