Endocrinology

The Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism manages specialized centers of care for patients with diabetes, thyroid disorders and pituitary disorders. Collaboration among endocrinologists, endocrine surgeons, and bariatric surgeons and physicians allows the Institute to work as a multidisciplinary team, providing personalized treatment plans and the best possible patient care.

Family Medicine

Family physicians specialize in the primary care of all members the family. This includes the care of newborns, infants and toddlers, school age children, adolescents, adult patients, and elderly patients. The goal of family physicians is to provide preventive and primary care across the spectrum of common complaints and concerns that patients encounter.

Internal Medicine

Our internal medicine staff provides comprehensive services for adults, such as diagnosing and treating health problems that require prompt attention, conducting general physical examinations and performing screenings, which may detect health problems early.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy enables people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health and prevent – or manage – illness, injury or disability. We offer outpatient therapy services for your convenience.

Orthopaedics

General and pediatric orthopaedic care and sports medicine are offered. Patients with orthopaedic problems related to the hands and upper extremities, or feet, ankles and knees can access specialty care through our staff. Arthroscopic knee, hand and foot surgeries are performed in the state-of-the-art outpatient surgery centers in Avon, Lorain, Beachwood and Strongsville, or at Cleveland Clinic’s main hospital campus.

Optometry/Ophthalmology

Specializing in family eye care, we provide complete eye healthcare for every member of the family. Our services include:

Physical Therapy

Cleveland Clinic Avon Lake Family Health Center offers a comprehensive outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy program for patients with neurological conditions. This program can help individuals with neurological deficits progress toward a more independent lifestyle. Family members are encouraged to participate in therapy sessions to apply learned skills in the home environment.

Podiatry

For adult patients with foot and ankle problems, podiatric specialists provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Most often, problems can be treated using non-surgical methods. When necessary, however, surgery is performed by physicians specializing in foot and ankle procedures. Most surgeries can be performed in our convenient outpatient surgery centers, making it possible for most patients to go home on the same day of surgery.
