Our general office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Urgent calls received outside of these hours will be answered by our service.

About Your Appointment

Patient Visit Forms

These forms must be completed annually or whenever you have a change to your personal or medical information. They must also be completed if you have not had an office visit prior to your procedure.

Your Office Visit

  • We ask that you arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment time so that you can complete a medical questionnaire.
  • Please bring a list of your current medications.
  • Please bring your insurance card(s) to your appointment. We will make a copy of them for your file.
  • Due to insurance regulations, your copay is due at the time of the visit and will be collected upon your arrival. We accept cash, personal checks, or credit cards as payment.
  • You may wish to bring your personal calendar or planner in case you need to schedule a procedure.

Preparation for Your Endoscopy Procedure

  • Specific individual instructions will be given to you before you come to the Center.
  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the night before your procedure unless you are instructed otherwise.
  • All patients are asked to sign a consent form before their procedure to authorize the doctor to perform it. Patients under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign the consent.
  • Leave all jewelry and valuables at home.
  • You must have someone drive you home after your endoscopy procedure. The medications you will receive have sedative effects that slow your reflexes so it is unsafe to drive after your procedure.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to take off and put on.
  • Please bring a list of your current medications.
  • The nurse will call you the day before your procedure to give you the time for your procedure.
  • Please bring your insurance card(s) with you. Prior to the service, please contact your insurance to verify that your procedure is a covered benefit and that our facility is a provider within your plan. If you have any billing questions, please contact our Billing Department at 440.544.1268.

The Day of the Procedure

  • Please notify the receptionist of your arrival. Your insurance card(s) will be copied and returned to you.
  • You will be brought back into the endoscopy suite and a nurse will talk with you and record your vital signs, allergies, and other patient information.
  • An I.V. will be started so that we may give you intravenous medication. This medication will help to relax you and make you feel more comfortable.
  • If you are having an upper endoscopy, you will have to remove any dentures or partial plates just prior to the procedure.
  • Your family member or driver must wait in our waiting room until you are ready to be released. For their convenience, free Wi-Fi is available for use during their wait.

After Your Procedure

  • You will rest for a short time in our Center until the effects of the medication wear off.
  • The doctor will tell you what he found and verbal and written discharge instructions will be given to you.
  • You will receive a call from a nurse 24 hours after your procedure to check on you.
  • Biopsy results are generally available within 10 days. You will receive a call when the results are received by the office.
