MIGALASTAT (mi GAL a stat) treats Fabry Disease. It works by replacing an enzyme normally made by the body, which reduces the buildup fatty substances (lipids) in the eyes, kidneys, heart, and other tissues. This decreases symptoms and the risk of serious health problems.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
Take this medication by mouth with water. Take it as directed on the prescription label at the same time every day. Do not cut, crush, or chew this medication. Take it on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after food. Administer on an empty stomach; do not consume food or caffeine at least 2 hours before and 2 hours after taking migalastat to allow a minimum 4-hour fast. It may be taken with water (plain, flavored, or sweetened), fruit juices without pulp, and caffeine-free carbonated beverages. Keep taking it unless your care team tells you to stop.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can unless it is more than 12 hours late. If it is more than 12 hours late, skip the missed dose. Take the next dose at the normal time.

Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Keep this medication in the original packaging until you are ready to take it. Protect from moisture. Get rid of any unused medication after the expiration date.
