Description
We invite you to take part in a research study because you have a radiologic, endoscopic or biopsy-proven diagnosis of a liver, pancreas, biliary tree, neuroendocrine or adrenal, benign or malignant tumor, or early-stage or end-stage liver disease (e.g., NASH, cirrhosis). The purpose of this study is to obtain and store tumor tissue and/or other biospecimens (e.g., saliva and blood) at the time of your consultation, biopsy, or surgery for research studies on liver, pancreas, biliary tree (the bile ducts and gallbladder), neuroendocrine (tumor that makes higher than normal amount of hormones) or adrenal lesions.
You will be asked to participate in a research study that will draw 2 tabelspoons of blood. Furthermore, we would like to collect substances in your other bodily fluids or specimens (e.g., bile, feces or urine). Finally, the tissue that is being obtained at the time of your biopsy or surgery will be processed as usual for your medical care. However, we would like to keep the excess tissue and/or cells that are not needed for your care for research purposes.
