Description
This study is for adults who are having planned abdominal surgery (such as hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, bowel surgery, or stomach surgery).
We are testing how well a questionnaire called RAAS (Recovery After Abdominal Surgery) measures recovery after surgery. The questionnaire asks about symptoms (like pain, nausea, bowel function), physical function, and mental well-being over time after surgery.
If you join, you will complete brief questionnaires before your operation and several times after surgery (online or by phone) for up to about 3 months. You will also be asked some general health questions, and we will review your medical record for surgery and recovery information. There are no extra procedures or clinic visits just for the study. Some participants may receive small gift cards as a thank you for their time.
