Description
2.1 To identify knowledge gaps in daily caregiving through a review of previous research and a survey of active cancer caregivers.
2.2 To develop and distribute a printed educational resource addressing cancer caregiver concerns.
2.3 To evaluate the helpfulness of the printed educational resource from the perspective of active cancer caregivers.
Inclusion Criteria
Caregivers at least 18 years of age for adult patients diagnosed with any type of cancer and actively receiving any manner of anti-cancer therapy at Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Center (located at the institution’s Main Campus in Cleveland, OH), will be invited to participate. Caregivers must also be able to read and respond to questions in English and are not currently receiving monetary compensation for taking care of their care recipients. Caregivers for patients enrolled in hospice care will be excluded. Caregivers will be allowed to enroll and participate in the study regardless of their answers to the initial caregiver needs survey, including identified deficiencies in certain caregiving aspects and absence of significant caregiving needs.
