Description
To develop new serologic markers of colorectal cancer by testing the blood of colorectal cancer patients for cancer associated nucleic acids, proteins, and cells. We will accomplish this goal by collecting blood from colorectal cancer patients, fractionating it into serum or plasma, and cellular fractions, and testing those fractions for the presence of protein, nucleic acids, or cellular elements shown in the laboratory to be associated with colorectal cancer.
Inclusion Criteria
• At least 18 years old or older
• Diagnosis of colorectal cancer
• Hemodynamically stable
• Able to provide blood samples
• Able to provide consent
Exclusion Criteria
• Under 18 years old
• Any active cancer other than non-melanoma skin cancer or colorectal cancer
• Hemodynamically unstable
• Unable to provide blood samples
• Unable to provide consent
