Description
ROMA is a two arm event driven randomized rial aimed at evaluating the impact of the use of one artery (SAG) vs two or more artery grafts (MAG) for CABG. For patients randomized to the SAG group, SVG grafts will be used for all non-LAD target vessels. For patients randomized to the MAG group, the second ITA or the RA will be used to graft the main target vessel of the lateral wall. The use of supplementary arterial grafts will be allowed in the MAG group. For right coronary targets, a high-grade target vessel stenosis is recommended for both the RA and RITA. Surgical revascularization will be performed with the current standard technique in use at every single center. The primary aim is to conduct a multicenter international randomized control trial to test the hypothesis that the use of a two or more arterial grafts compared to a single arterial graft is associated with a reduction in the composite outcome of death from any cause, any stroke, post discharge myocardial infarction and/or repeat revascularization. Follow up will be every 6 months by phone post the CABG procedure
