At the time of discharge, patients were no longer experiencing severe refusal behavior and the majority (71%) were experiencing none or mild refusal behavior. In addition, the severity of oral motor difficulties had decreased from 69% severe initially to 86% experiencing none or mild oral motor difficulties. As oral motor difficulties decreased and feeding became easier for patients, improvements were noted in decreased severity of refusal behavior and increased number of foods accepted in the diet.

By the initial follow-up, 46% of patients had added foods to their repertoire. At the time of discharge, 71% of patients increased their food repertoire and 57% of those had added at least 21 foods.
