Peds Q-L
2019 - 2023
The PedsQL is a health-related quality of life (HRQOL) measure for both healthy children and adolescents and those with acute and chronic health conditions. This assessment is a brief, multidimensional measure (Physical, Emotional, Social, School Functioning) that is valid, reliable and responsive to clinical change over time. The 23-item PedsQL Generic Core Scales were designed to measure both school functioning and the core dimensions of health as delineated by the World Health Organization. The 4 Multidimensional Scales include physical functioning, emotional functioning, social functioning, and school functioning. The three Summary Scores are: Total Scale Score, Physical Health Summary Score and Psychosocial Health Summary Score. A 4.5-point change in the Total Scale Score for parent proxy-report is a minimal clinically meaningful difference.
From 2019-2023, 359 patients who participated in groups offered by Cleveland Clinic Therapy Services had an average pre score on Peds QL parent proxy report of 62.0 and the average post score on Peds QL parent proxy report of 66.4.
