CAP, JCAP & CCAP Committees
Committee on Appointments and Promotions (CAP)
CCLCM Faculty Affairs has three committees dedicated to the approval of appointments and promotions. All applications, with the exception of clinical assistant professor, must be approved by one of these committees. There is an appeal policy for any application that receives a not-in-favor vote. Once approved, CCLCM Faculty Affairs completes the application packet and sends it to CWRU for the application review process.
The Committee on Appointments and Promotions (CAP) reviews and approves applications and promotions for associate professor and professor. The members are all professors and meet approximately 10 times throughout the year. CCLCM Faculty Affairs would like to thank all our volunteer CAP members for their dedicated service.
Committee on Appointments and Promotions – Junior (JCAP)
Assistant professor and instructor applications are reviewed and approved electronically each month by the Committee on Appointments and Promotions -Junior (JCAP). CCLCM Faculty Affairs would like to thank all our volunteer JCAP members for their dedicated service.
Committee on Appointments and Promotions – Clinical (CCAP)
Clinical associate professor and clinical professor applications (as well as adjunct) are reviewed and approved electronically each month by the Committee on Appointments and Promotions -Clinical (CCAP). CCLCM Faculty Affairs would like to thank all our volunteer CCAP members for their dedicated service.
Academic Departments & Chairs
CCLCM has academic departments that correspond with the clinical and basic science departments at the other CWRU-affiliated hospitals. Usually, the same person who serves as department chair at Cleveland Clinic will also serve as the CCLCM academic chair. The chairs are the liaisons to the SOM Dean for matters affecting the faculty of the department. The academic chairs offer guidance to the faculty in the department, and we value their volunteer service to CCLCM.
Faculty Council Representatives
CCLCM is part of the CWRU SOM Faculty Council, which is the primary governing body. CCLCM representatives are regular track faculty who are elected from each of our academic departments and serve with representatives from all CWRU-affiliated hospitals. Learn more about CWRU SOM faculty governance. Faculty Council meetings are typically held the third Monday of the month, from September to June, at CWRU. View the meeting calendar. The meetings are open to all, but only representatives can vote. The representatives listed below give a voice to all faculty, and we appreciate their volunteer service.
