
Executive Vice President and Chief Improvement Officer
Lisa Yerian, MD, is Executive Vice President and Chief Improvement Officer at Cleveland Clinic. She leads systemwide efforts to strengthen safety, quality and patient experience through operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.
Dr. Yerian has held several leadership roles within Cleveland Clinic and is recognized nationally for her work in healthcare improvement. She has served as Director of Liver Pathology and Section Head of Surgical Pathology at Cleveland Clinic and is a former member of the Board of Governors and Vice Chair of Professional Staff Affairs.
Dr. Yerian graduated from the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed both residency in Anatomic Pathology and fellowship in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Yerian also completed the Harvard Business School Program for Leadership Development.
Dr. Yerian has authored over 150 manuscripts, articles and book chapters and is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Association of American Medical Colleges Clinical Care Innovation Challenge Award. She serves on multiple nonprofit boards and speaks nationally and internationally on leadership, culture and improvement.
