Mary E. Rayborn, MS, is a project scientist in the Department of Ophthalmic Research at the Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. Previous to joining Cleveland Clinic in 1995, Ms. Rayborn was Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine’s Cullen Eye Institute in Houston, having started there as a research instructor in 1977. Prior to that, she served as an electron microscopist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.
Ms. Rayborn received her bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Southern Mississippi and her master’s degree in science from the University of Louisville. She has co-authored voluminous articles, papers and abstracts on a wide range of ophthalmologic trials and research, much of which has been presented at major international medical conferences.
Over the past 35 years, Ms. Rayborn’s work has been published in leading medical journals such as Science, Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, Neurology, the Journal of Neurochemistry, Comprehensive Neurology, the Journal of Cell Biology and others.
