Dr. Stephanie A. Valente is the Director of the Cleveland Clinic Western Region Breast Program as well as Medical Director of the Fairview Hospital, Moll Breast Center. She is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine and Case Western Reserve University and is the Director for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship program.
Dr. Valente joined the Clinic in 2011 after completing her Surgical Breast Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where she received specialty training in oncoplastic breast surgery.
Dr. Valente has a strong interest in advanced surgical techniques including minimally invasive breast surgery, hidden scars, oncoplastic surgery and nipple sparing mastectomy. She also is active in research for development of innovative surgical procedures to prevent lymphedema. She has a passion for treating young women with breast cancer as well as those with genetic and high-risk disease.
Dr. Valente is a speaker both nationally and internationally and has written numerous peer-review journal articles and book chapters in the field of breast cancer and disease.
She is an active member in the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, Association of Academic Surgeons, Midwest and Central Surgical Societies as well as the Cleveland Surgical Society Past-president.

Our visit with Dr. Valente was great. She answered our questions and made us feel comfortable. This was a follow up 9 months after surgery accompanied by my first clean mammogram. We truly appreciate all that she and her staff have done for us.

Dr. Valente is an amazing breast surgeon. She not only does a fantastic job surgically ( I have two from her with minimal scarring that fades), but she is there for her patients emotionally. My very first visit she was a few minutes late, and her PA explained to me she never leaves the room until she has answered all your questions. Dr Valente the room, introduced herself, thoroughly explained everything, answered questions I didn't even know I would have, went through my choices and risks, etc etc. Always asks any questions multiple times. Then if you think of any, use MyChart.

Dr. Valente is the best provider I have ever worked with. Her advocacy for the patient is unlike most, and it is so refreshing. She truly cares about her patients and has helped me time and time again with decisions or care that were actually outside of her lane (because I was having trouble getting ahold of my other doctors and was panicking). She is warm, kind and understanding. I am so blessed to have her looking out for me.
