Biographical Sketch
Pelin Batur, MD, is a board-certified internist at Cleveland Clinic. She graduated from medical school at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, where she completed the accelerated, 6-year B.S./MD track. She completed her internal medicine residency training at the Cleveland Clinic.
With the goal of providing more comprehensive care in all aspects of women’s healthcare, she completed specialty training in women’s health at Cleveland Clinic. Her practice now consists of seeing women’s health consults as well as a general internal medicine patients (both men and women).
Her areas of expertise include abnormal bleeding (pre- or post-menopause), breast concerns (including options for high-risk patients), osteoporosis, contraception (especially difficulties with multiple hormonal options), headache, polycystic ovaries and menopause (discussing all types of hormone therapy).
She is one of the bone density reviewers for Cleveland Clinic. She also performs specialty procedures including colposcopy (for evaluation of abnormal pap smears), IUD insertion (contraceptive), endometrial biopsies (for evaluation of heavy menstrual bleeding), cervical polyp removal, vulvar biopsies and ductal lavage (a new procedure for women at high risk for breast cancer).
