Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 10/1/2024, Dr. Babiuch has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr Babiuch was well worth waiting for.

The care provider (doctor) was very thorough in explaining my condition to me. She made me feel comfortable about the procedure involved in rectifying the condition.

This doctor was highly recommended to me by many other moms. I was so happy to be able to get my daughter in to see her. However, I was highly let down by my experience with this doctor. I felt extremely rushed. I had way more questions leaving the appointment than I did at the appointment. She was not personable with me as the parent and was very short. Again, very very rushed. I will say she did great with my daughter during her exams. I plan on going to the follow up appointment with her in hopes she might have just been having a rough day and the follow up is a different experience.

Dr Babuich was excellent very kind and patient with Riley. She also had a med student with her who was very kind as well.

Dr. Babich seems to be a super specialist and it took months to get an appointment. I wasn't in any distress so I am not upset. She did explain that there are two other physicians at the CCF who could have seen me sooner. That option was not on my mind, nor on the mind of the scheduler, when we spoke to set up the exam. Not a big concern.

I love Dr. Babiuch. She is so busy but still takes time to make you feel comfortable. Surgery on my eyes was terrifying but she put me at ease. And she did an amazing job of correcting my strabismus (sp?).

Reviewed on Mar 18, 2024

Doctor saw my daughter an hour and fifty minutes after her appointment time, was very rude and blunt in relaying her condition and didn't offer any help or empathy to explain what to do

Reviewed on Feb 29, 2024

Provider was rude when I was not informed dilation was necessary. I did not have time for an exam. Left with no answers to even simple concerns. She missed _____ spot on child's eyelid.
