Biography
Winnie Larsen, MSW, RSW, is a psychotherapist with Cleveland Clinic Canada’s Executive Health program. With an extensive understanding of human development across the lifespan, Ms. Larsen helps her patients using a client centred approach to psychotherapy. Ms. Larsen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, followed by a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. Her clinical experience includes working with interdisciplinary teams at several Toronto area hospitals including Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and St. Joseph’s Health Centre. In addition to her extensive work experience in health and mental illness, she has also received additional training from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, and the University of Toronto. Her commitment to continued learning and training not only positively impacts her patients, but also to those students she supervises and mentors from the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto.
Throughout her career, Ms. Larsen has dedicated herself to advancing the practice of mental health with her patients and within the clinical community. She has assessed and treated clients with a wide variety of mental health needs, including victims of trauma and abuse, emotional disorders, sexual abuse, end of life care, developmental disabilities and mental health disorders. She has also led, facilitated, and implemented various programs such as developing joint community health networks of care and works collaboratively with a broad range of professionals.
In her spare time, Ms. Larsen enjoys working out, dragon boat racing, cycling, reading, arts and culture, and is currently pursuing a diploma in Fine Art and spending time with family and friends.
