Biography

Mr. Albanes is an Athletic Therapist and a Specialist on our Movement and Performance team at Cleveland Clinic Canada.  

He is passionate about sports, coaching and enabling people to live life on their own terms. He began his career in health and fitness after he graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Fitness and Lifestyle Management from George Brown College. He later obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from York University with a certificate in Athletic Therapy. 

Mr. Albanes has dedicated his professional career to supporting members of his community by providing them with strength and conditioning exercise programs and facilitating their injury rehabilitation. He designs therapeutic programs for athletes and the general population based on best practices to meet their individual needs. This can include strength training, balance training, fall prevention training, and injury rehabilitation. Mr. Albanes has worked with high-level youth and adult athletes on the field and in clinics as a therapist and trainer, attending The Canada games, international tennis tournaments, and national-level teams (Maccabi basketball and volleyball, and the Canadian Australian Rules Football team). 

Mr. Albanes has worked for over a decade as a personal trainer with patients ranging from 11 to 86 years old. Currently, most of Mr. Albanes’ patients are patients at the end stages of injury rehabilitation, where he coordinates treatment plans and exercise programs with various healthcare providers. He is fluent in English, and Spanish and speaks conversational French. 

When he’s not seeing patients, Mr. Albanes enjoys weightlifting, hiking, cooking, watching sports, and reading.
