Biography
Julia Hamilton, MD, CCFP, Dip. Sport Med, is a Sports Medicine physician with Cleveland Clinic Canada. Working with the Sports Health team, Dr. Hamilton provides thorough assessments of musculoskeletal concerns in order to help patients restore function and maximize their athletic performance.
She earned a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University, followed by a Master of Health Sciences in Clinical Engineering from the University of Toronto. In pursuit of her dream to be a Sports Medicine physician, she completed her Doctor of Medicine degree along with a Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship from the University of Toronto. During that time she also earned her CCFP accreditation in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto.
In addition to her academic accomplishments and clinical work with Credit Valley Family Medicine Teaching Unit and Albany Medical Clinic, Dr. Hamilton is an accomplished athlete. She has won gold medals from the Canadian University Individual Squash Championships, the Canadian Squash Championships Women’s B-Division, and was named an Ontario University Athletics All-Star for Women’s Squash for seven consecutive years. She is currently a member of the Mayfair Lakeshore Racquet Club and competes provincially and nationally in women’s singles and doubles squash. She is also a Canadian Red Cross First Responder, and ACLS certified.
In her leisure time, Dr. Hamilton enjoys running, golf, canoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing.
