Biography

Chantal Sorhaindo is a Nurse Practitioner at Cleveland Clinic Canada. Ms. Sorhaindo has over a decade of nursing experience in primary care, geriatrics, and occupational health. She is passionate about primary care and believes that engaging in primary healthcare and creating safe spaces for patients to voice their concerns early can mitigate negative health impacts in the future. Ms. Sorhaindo also has a strong interest in Black health, and providing care to Black and Indigenous patients who have been marginalized in today's health systems. She is dedicated to empowering her patients to make safe and informed healthcare decisions and truly enjoys acting as a partner to help facilitate opportunities for her patients to take control of their health.   

Ms. Sorhaindo completed a Diploma in Practical Nursing from the Sheridan College Institute of Technology, followed by a Bridging to University Certificate from Centennial College. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Ryerson University before going on to obtain her Masters in Nursing from the University of Toronto’s Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program. Currently, she is completing her Certificate in Nursing Education for the Practice Setting at the University of Toronto.  

Actively involved in her community, Ms. Sorhaindo has extensive executive leadership experience on various boards of directors and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigenous Reconciliation Committees. These include Co-chair of the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing Equity Diversity Inclusion Indigenous Reconciliation Committee at the University of Toronto, and the Food as Medicine Update Steering Committee at the University of Toronto. She currently holds the role of Education Chair at the Canadian Family Practice Nurses Association and is a member of the Board of Directors at The Third Way Diversity Consulting.

When she’s not treating patients, Ms. Sorhaindo enjoys traveling, writing music, painting, singing and playing the piano. She also enjoys knitting and crocheting, playing board games with friends, and trying out new escape rooms.
