Melissa Sergi, MD

Biography

Melissa Sergi, MD, FRCPC is a General Internist at Cleveland Clinic Canada. She has a particular clinical interest in wound care, hyperbaric medicine, and medical education.

Dr. Sergi completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at McMaster University, followed by her Doctor of Medicine at Queen’s University. She then completed her Core Internal Medicine training and Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Sergi has additional training in Hyperbaric Medicine through the International ATMO Team Training Course. She has also completed the Wounds Canada Institute Skin Health Advocate and Resource Professional Program.

At Credit Valley Hospital, Dr. Sergi has been an Attending Staff Physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine since 2014. In addition to her hospital-based practice, she serves as a Hyperbaric Medicine Physician at Halton Hyperbarics and holds courtesy privileges as a Hyperbaric Consultant at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She is also involved in wound care as Associate Staff at the Wound Care Clinic at Credit Valley Hospital.

Committed to education and mentorship, Dr. Sergi has held an academic appointment as Lecturer at the University of Toronto since 2014. She is actively involved in postgraduate medical education, including coordinating senior resident rotations and teaching within the Clinical Teaching Unit. 

When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Sergi enjoys doing activities with her husband, son, and daughter. She is an avid reader and loves traveling to new places.
