For more than 100 years, the nurses, therapists and physicians at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation have had one goal: to teach children the skills they need to fully participate in the world when they leave.

Whether your child depends on a ventilator to breathe, requires a special device to communicate or uses a powered wheelchair, our team of more than 350 caregivers is equipped with the knowledge and technology your child needs to thrive. We are one of a select few accredited, freestanding pediatric specialty hospitals in the United States. Our unique, park-like setting is ideal for rehabilitation. We are also in close contact with the many Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital specialists at our main campus should your child need to see one.

Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital psychologists and other behavioral health professionals team up to provide evaluation and treatment for patients from infancy through young adulthood. They use state-of-the-art testing and rely on treatments with proven efficacy. Our staff members help young people manage behavioral, emotional and stress-related disorders; cope with chronic illness; and learn to deal with disabling pain.

Our behavioral medicine specialists also direct the ADHD Center for Evaluation and Treatment and its popular and highly successful summer treatment program.

Our Judith M. Powers Dialysis Unit offers treatment for young patients with end-stage renal disease in a child-friendly setting. The unit opened in 2003 and is designed to serve children and adolescents up to 21 years of age. The unit is staffed by pediatric nephrologists, certified nephrology nurses and renal specialists who understand the unique medical needs of these children. The unit also provides a training center for parents so they can learn to perform peritoneal dialysis at home. It is the only dedicated pediatric dialysis unit in Northeast Ohio affiliated with a full service transplant center.
