Cleveland Clinic's Let's Move It Mondays Return for a Second Season

Free Lunchtime Walking Program Offered at Progressive Field, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

May 31, 2012

Now in its second year, Cleveland Clinic’s popular Let’s Move It! Mondays lunchtime walking program will expand from six weeks to 10 weeks and from one location to two locations: Progressive Field and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. More than 2,600 people participated in last year’s six-week program.

Let’s Move It! Mondays will be held rain or shine from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The program will be at Progressive Field on June 4, June 11, July 9, July 16, July 30 and August 13 and at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on June 25, July 2, July 23, and August 6.  The first 250 participants to the June 4 and June 25 events will receive a complimentary Let’s Move It! t-shirt.

“Physical inactivity is one of the factors contributing to the escalating chronic disease rate in America,” said Michael F. Roizen, MD, Cleveland Clinic Chief Wellness Officer and Chairman of the Wellness Institute. “Let’s Move It! Mondays makes exercise fun, while exploring two of Cleveland’s most popular attractions.”

At Progressive Field, participants can enter the ballpark at Gate A and walk around the warning track. The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo offers free zoo admission to Cuyahoga county and Hinckley Township residents on Mondays. Participants can walk a pre-determined route through the zoo.

The more participants walk, the more points they can earn with the new Let’s Move It! Points Pass.  The Points Pass card will be available at each Let’s Move It! Mondays event. One (1) point may be earned at each event. When participants accumulate five (5) points, they will be entered to win prizes, including an iPad, Xbox, Cleveland Indians tickets, a behind-the-scenes tour of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and more. In addition, there will be competitions for schools and corporations who participate in the program each week.

Let’s Move It! Mondays are part of Cleveland Clinic’s Let’s Move It! campaign to promote an active lifestyle. For complete information, Points Pass rules, and alternative means of entry for Let’s Move It! Mondays, visit
