Medina Hospital Opens Infusion Suite for Cancer Treatment

Suite Staffed by Oncologists from Cleveland Clinic’s Top-Ranked Cancer Institute

Medina Hospital opened a new infusion suite today, bringing advanced cancer treatment to Medina County by oncologists from Cleveland Clinic’s top-ranked Taussig Cancer Institute.

“Cleveland Clinic made a commitment to bring innovative treatment to Medina County and is again following through on that promise,” said Medina Hospital President Thomas Tulisiak, MD “With the opening of Medina Hospital’s new infusion suite, Medina County residents have access to the top cancer care in the state, right in their backyard.”

The 3,350-square-foot suite is located on the sixth floor of Medina Hospital’s Medical Office Building and has two exam rooms and six private chemotherapy chairs. Physicians and registered nurses will treat solid tumor and hematological disorders, as well as perform blood transfusions.

“Providing cancer care close to home is integral to the mission of Cleveland Clinic’s Taussig Cancer Institute,” said Timothy P. Spiro, MD, FACP, Chairman of Regional Oncology at Taussig Cancer Institute. “By bringing infusion therapy to Medina Hospital, we’re improving patients’ access to this treatment, which will ultimately aid in their recovery.”

U.S.News and World Report ranks Taussig Cancer Institute as the top cancer center in Ohio and among the top 10 nationally.
