Overview

Overview

Although often considered a problem in adulthood, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) can affect children and teens, especially when there is a genetic cause. Cleveland Clinic Children's Pediatric Familial Hyperlipidemia Clinic provides assessment and treatment of children and teens with elevated cholesterol, including initiation and management of medications where indicated.

Our clinic involves a registered dietitian for consultation and advice. Referrals can be made to pediatric-specific programs that focus on health, exercise and weight management, if needed.
