Treatment & Procedures
Spleen diseases
Our surgeons provide minimally invasive splenectomy for benign and cancerous conditions, including:
- Cancers, such as lymphoma or certain types of leukemia, that affect your spleen.
- Enlarged spleen.
- Hypersplenism (overactive spleen).
- Injuries and trauma to your spleen.
Adrenal cancer and tumors
Adrenalectomy (removal of the adrenal gland) is the main treatment for adrenal cancers and tumors. Our surgeons use adrenalectomy to treat:
- Adrenal adenoma.
- Adrenal tumors that cause Cushing syndrome.
- Adrenocortical carcinoma.
- Pheochromocytoma (neuroendocrine tumor that forms near your adrenal glands).
Benign (noncancerous) adrenal tumors do not always need treatment. We work closely with endocrinologists to determine if surgery is the right treatment for you.
Laparoscopic (minimally invasive) adrenalectomy effectively treats most benign adrenal tumors. Our surgeons only use a larger abdominal incision when the tumor may be very large or cancerous. We explain what to expect before your surgery and support you throughout your recovery.
