Overview

Overview

We evaluate and manage patients with granulomatous disease referred to us from the pulmonary clinic, chest surgery service, rheumatology clinic, primary care physicians and other specialties. We are also the referral center for patients and Cleveland Clinic employees diagnosed with latent tuberculosis infection by tuberculin skin test or blood TB tests. Our physicians are nationally recognized for their expertise and contributions to the management of patients with granulomatous disorders.

What is Granuloma?

A granuloma is a small area of inflammatory cells within the body (most often the lungs) that are surrounding a foreign body and trying to eliminate it. If these cells cannot eliminate the infection, then the disease can spread.

What are the symptoms of Granuloma?

Diseases that cause granulomas most often affect the lungs, with symptoms of cough, shortness of breath, fevers, night sweats, and weight loss. Other parts of the body, such as skin, bones, and eyes can be affected as well.
