About Us

Overview

  • The Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic is 1 year in length beginning July 1st and ending June 30th.
  • There are 5 positions each year: 2 ACGME positions (accredited) and 3 clinical positions (non-accredited).
  • The Cleveland Clinic Imaging Institute archives over 3 million exams or procedures per year. The MSK section reads or performs 200,000+ procedures per year which include high volume services in sports medicine, orthopedic oncology, and rheumatology.
  • MSK section includes 13 MSK-trained faculty members who are dedicated to teaching, have clinical expertise in different facets of MSK imaging and are actively engaged in clinical research.
  • Fellows will be exposed to all aspects of diagnostic and interventional MSK imaging and trained in all modalities including MRI, US, radiography and nuclear medicine.
  • Fellows will spend time at the main campus as well as the Sports Health Center (a satellite facility).
  • Fellows will participate in and lead a number of didactic and interdisciplinary clinical conferences including a year-long lecture series covering all the major MSK imaging topics.
  • Fellows will participate in a year-long hands-on MSK ultrasound curriculum.
  • Fellows will participate research and quality projects and have access to the resources of the MSK Imaging Research Lab.

Curriculum

Curriculum

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting radiographs, MRI, CT, US, bone mineral density and nuclear medicine scans.
  • Performing fluoroscopic and US guided therapeutic injections and diagnostic aspirations including US guided platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, hydrodissections and percutaneous tenotomies.
  • Performing CT, US and MR guided bone and soft tissue biopsies and CT guided radiofrequency ablations and cryoablations.
  • Protocoling and monitoring cross-sectional imaging studies.
  • Supervising residents and medical students.
  • Participating in didactic and clinical conferences (~1 per day) and leading assigned conferences (~3 per month). Conferences include MSK Fellow Conference, MSK Interesting Case Conference, Sarcoma Conference, Sports Medicine Conference, MSK Infectious Disease Conference, Rheumatology Conference and MSK Journal Club. One half-day will be provided every 5 weeks for conference preparation.
  • Home call (once every 5 weeks)

Non-clinical Responsibilities:

  • Participating in at least 1 research project under the guidance of a faculty mentor that will be submitted to a national meeting for podium presentation and culminate in a manuscript that will be submitted for publication.
  • Participating in at least 1 quality improvement project.
  • Participating in CME conferences hosted by the section.

PGY-6 $75,569 annual rate* $3,149 rate per pay

*Clinical Fellow will receive additional salary for 1 clinical day each week.

*Reflect 2023 salary and is subject to change.

Academic Funding

  • Up to 5 days for meetings per year.
  • Up to $5,000 for oral presentations.
  • Up to $1,000 for attendance only meetings.

Vacation and Time Away

  • 15 vacation days per year.
  • 5 personal days per year.

Thank you for your interest in the MSK Radiology Fellowship Program at Cleveland Clinic. We participate in the NRMP for MSK Radiology Fellowship and will be accepting the common application form provided on the Society for Skeletal Radiology (SSR) website. All the applicants need to be enrolled in or have completed, an ACGME-accredited U.S. residency program or an RCPSC-accredited program or a CFPC-accredited Canadian residency program. We will sponsor applicants with J1 visas. We will be following the NRMP timeline for interviewing and ranking.
