Overview
- The Abdominal Imaging fellowship at Cleveland Clinic is 1 year in length and exposes trainees to high case volume and complexity.
- There are up to 4 positions each year (non-ACGME accredited).
- Fellows have the option to participate in a traditional fellowship pathway or in a clinical pathway:
- Traditional pathway: Fellows spend 5 days/week at CCF main campus focusing on advanced fellowship training.
- Clinical practitioner pathway: Couples advanced fellowship training with real-world practice experience and supplemental income; fellows spend 1 day/week at one of the regional CCF hospitals independently interpreting routine radiology examinations, and 4 days/week as fellows at the main campus.
- Training provides a comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiology experience in all aspects of gastrointestinal and genitourinary imaging.
- Interpretation of advanced CT, MRI, and Ultrasound applications.
- CT and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, including core biopsy sampling, fine needle aspiration and abscess drainage.
- Fluoroscopy training optional.

Academic funding

Application Process
Eligibility:
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled in or have completed an ACGME-accredited U.S. residency program.
- International graduates and trainees that are not U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents on H1b or O-1 visas. We no longer sponsor applicants with J1 visas in Abdominal Imaging.
Imaging Fellowship Application
Application period starts Nov. 1, 2025 for the 2027-2028 Academic Year.
