Miller Pavilion Pre-op
Our Pre-op area provides our same day surgery patients a quiet and comfortable, private atmosphere for their surgical preparation:
- 12 patient private rooms
- Staggered shifts provide optimal coverage for all portions of the day
- Duties include patient pre-op assessment, Accu-Chek and Hcg POCT, IV insertion, medication administration
- 10 bay prep and hold area near operating room

- Fifteen operating rooms (11 Cardiac, two Thoracic, and two Endovascular)
- Two pediatric congenital heart operating rooms
- Skill mix: RN 60%/ST 40%
- Staffed 24 hours a day/seven days a week
- Minimal Call Schedule
- Shift and Specialty Unit Differential
- Expanded OR Team Concept
