Biographical Sketch

Mandeep Bhargava, MD, is a Staff Cardiologist in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Section of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Bhargava’s specialty interests are supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, atrial fibrillation, implantable defibrillators, pacemakers and Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.

A native of India, Dr. Bhargava received his medical degree from the University of Delhi, where he was honored as “Best Medical Graduate” and was presented with the R. Vishwanathan Gold Medal by then Indian Vice-President Dr. S. D. Sharma. His completed his internship at Maulana Azad Medical College and its associated hospitals in New Delhi.

He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. Dr. Bhargava was awarded the Best Outgoing Postgraduate student in Medicine and was then offered a fellowship in cardiology at the same Institute. After working at the Institute as a consultant in clinical and interventional cardiology for four years, he received an advanced fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology from Cleveland Clinic and came to the United States for advanced training.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic as a staff cardiologist in 2005, Dr. Bhargava held several academic appointments. He was Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India and an Assistant Professor at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, India.

Dr. Bhargava is the author of nine chapters of medical textbooks related to cardiovascular medicine. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 articles and 60 abstracts in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to his specialty interests, including atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, radiofrequency ablation and device therapies. He has lectured on his clinical experience at national and international symposia and conferences.
