Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital Breaks Ground On Cancer Center Expansion
Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Lozick Cancer Pavilion on June 30, 2021, beginning the construction of a 10,600-square-foot addition to the hospital’s existing cancer center. A significant donation from The Lozick Family Foundation will fund the new construction.

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital has been recognized as a top hospital in the nation by Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2021 list. Hillcrest Hospital earns an "A" in the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade
Patient safety is a priority at Cleveland Clinic. The Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization that releases semi-annual safety grades associated with patient safety performance and practices. For the spring of 2021, Hillcrest Hospital received an "A" grade.

Hillcrest Receives Stroke Award
Hillcrest Hospital was recently notified that it has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.
These quality measures are designed to help hospital teams follow the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients.
A stroke patient loses 1.9 million neurons each minute stroke treatment is delayed. This recognition further demonstrates our commitment to delivering advanced stroke treatments to patients quickly and safely, said Dr. Harte. Hillcrest continues to strive for excellence in the acute treatment of stroke patients. This recognition further reinforces our team's hard work.
Hillcrest's Coronary Care Unit Receives Beacon Award for Excellence in 2016
The Hillcrest Coronary Care Unit has been awarded the American Association of Critical Care Nurses’ Beacon Award for Excellence, the first unit at Hillcrest to earn such a distinction. There are only 18 Beacon units in Ohio. For patients, the Beacon Award signifies exceptional care, improved outcomes and greater overall satisfaction. For caregivers, it identifies a supportive, collaborative work environment. The award recognizes performance in six categories: leadership structures and systems, staffing and staff engagement, effective communication, knowledge management, learning and development; evidence-based practice and processes, and patient outcomes.
