Two residents from each class are selected early in the year to act as members of our Pediatric Residency Education Committee. The Committee which also consists of our Program Director, associate program directors, chief residents and assistant chief residents, and core teaching faculty members from all clinical departments meets monthly to review the curriculum of the program and to ensure that the goals and objectives for each rotation meets our standards.
One day in the fall, the intern class is excused from afternoon clinical duties for an afternoon of fun and frolic! The retreat offers the interns a chance to relax and get to know each other in a more social setting.
Each spring the program hosts an all-resident retreat. All residents participate in a team building educational program that provides resident professional growth and development. And of course. . . after the work time comes some playtime!
Our annual graduation ceremony includes a wonderful evening of dinner and entertainment, in the form of a video presentation presented by the second year class. This is an event to celebrate the end of a great year and to say goodbye and good luck to our graduating seniors.
Opportunities available include the Relay-for-Life, fund-raising for school supplies for local school children, pediatric literacy campaign, annual hydrocephalus race/walk, Health Fair participation, blood donation drives, participating in the annual Oncology Remembrance Day and more!
“I cannot say enough about Cleveland Clinic. I am very proud to have trained there. I feel that my pediatric portion was a perfect blend of primary & tertiary care that prepped me well for specialty pediatrics without missing out on the "bread & butter" issues. Peds GI fellowship was a superb experience. I was comfortable picking up my new practice from, literally, day 1."
"Cleveland Clinic was never short on great mentors, dedicated professionals and teachers. Besides my training, I walked out of Cleveland Clinic with a clear understanding of what sets a high standard for medical care, service and education. For all of that, I am grateful.”
“My training has prepared me well to work in both a tertiary care center and community private practice. I had an excellent inpatient experience with a very broad exposure to both very common and more complex medical diagnosis. Teaching staff are top notch, personable, knowledgeable and approachable.”
