Thank you for your interest in Cleveland Clinic's Anesthesiology Residency Program. This website includes an overview of Cleveland Clinic's training program, as well as information about living in the Greater Cleveland area.
Our goal is to prepare excellent, board-certified anesthesiologists who can meet the challenges and changing needs of perioperative medicine. Each member of the Institute is personally committed to the goal of providing the best possible training to our residents.
We continue to have an American Board of Anesthesiology certification rate that exceeds 90 percent.
Our fully accredited training program offers a three- or four-year residency. The four-year residency begins with a unique clinical base year sponsored by the Anesthesiology Institute. After a complete exposure to all elements of Anesthesiology in the CA-1 & CA-2 years, residents will receive further training in the CA-3 year in subspecialties of anesthesiology with the goal of producing fully trained clinicians. Our academic training is designed to produce future leaders in the specialty.
The large number and complexity of operative procedures performed at Cleveland Clinic gives our residents abundant experience in clinical anesthesia and the opportunity to develop sub-specialization skills. Basic and clinical research opportunities further prepare residents to deliver state-of-the-art care to patients and increase academic careers.
Our diverse and extensive academic program allows resident to gain the most up-to-date information on all aspects of medical management pertaining to the practice of anesthesiology. We believe this superior academic and clinical training will prepare our residents to become future leaders in the practice of anesthesiology.
