From medical student education to advanced fellowship training, the Anesthesiology Institute is devoted to providing a comprehensive education in general anesthesia and its subspecialties with the goal of producing experts in perioperative medicine.
Our core residency program is one of the largest in the nation, training 120 residents annually in a high-acuity and clinically demanding environment. We also have the nation’s largest fellowship program, offering 10 fellowships, including four accredited fellowships: adult cardiothoracic, pain management, critical care, and pediatric anesthesia, and six formal fellowships: ambulatory anesthesia, anesthesia research, liver transplantation anesthesia, neuroanesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, and regional anesthesia.
Our residents and fellows utilize the latest technology, participate in all aspects patient care, and gain phenomenal clinical exposure to a high-acuity patient population that provides ample opportunity for learning from some of the world’s top subspecialty experts and researchers, many of whom hold leadership positions in national organizations such as ACGME, ABA, ASRA, ESRA, SPA, SEA, and SCCM.
