Industry Relationships

Dr. Modlo is so thorough and really takes the time to listen. He is thoughtful and genuine in his responses and is incredibly knowledgeable in his field. He takes the time to explain everything In a way that Is easy to understand and relate to. He is quick to respond in MyChart regarding test results and makes recommendations that are easy to follow. My experience with Dr Modlo has been nothing but positive during a frustrating time in my life regarding my health.

In our first appointment, dr. Modlo was kind and explained stuff well and I was very much looking forward to working with him. Our second appointment was a 180. He was dismissive, rude, made me feel as if I don't know what I'm talking about with my own body or how to schedule appointments. I had to wait 3.5 months to get my labs interpreted despite having followed up multiple times.

The one lines to get to the correct department involve a lot of warm transfeers and the receptionists are not all very friendly or considerate. It was also impossible to get the date and time I wanted for an appointment. Had to schedule far in advance. I see Dr. Young and could not get an appointment to see her so settled for Dr. Modlo.

Dr. Modlo has been a God-send to me over the last year and a half. I went from barely functioning, unable to get out of bed most days and on disability, struggling to know what was wrong to a fully functioning individual again, with a full plan of care, and able to work. Dr. Modlo, upon hearing my symptoms, knew what tests to run when others didn't and when the tests came back positive, knew how to get me well. I cannot recommend him enough. I tell all I know who are struggling to try to see him at functional medicine at Cleveland clinic. I know this all sounds over the top, but it's exactly how I feel.

He was 35 minutes late and was in a hurry to be done before the end of the hour. Only spending about 20 minutes with us. Not worth our trouble to talk with him. Not rude but uncaring about our problems. Because of him we probably will not be scheduling any more visits. Why would we? Meeting was too short to be productive.

I think he is very smart. However the conversation began with his ground rules, and the fact that he was blunt. He went on to say that some people don't like that. Stating your deficiency is not a justification for it. Working on it is a much better plan of action. I appreciated the tests that he ordered, and some of his thought process, but I left with no idea what next steps were other than 8 weeks later I would see him again. He also put down the director of the dept regarding a decision made without his input. I was beyond excited about this visit and left feeling like I didn't have an ally working toward my health. Thankfully when I expressed this to the receptionist she helped move my provider.

Dr. Modlo has been one of the best doctors I've ever had. He was able to get my thyroid under control, and worked with my other doctors at Cleveland Clinic to make sure my treatment was optimal. He's always on top of everything, and follows through. I know he is unbelievably busy, but treats you like his only patient.
