Biography

Holly is an E-RYT 200 and Cleveland Clinic School of Yoga graduate. After retiring from the Cleveland Clinic as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, she rejoined the enterprise as a yoga instructor in 2021. The initial draw to yoga for Holly was to help yogis of all different abilities learn safe variations of poses that will allow them to participate in any capacity. Her practice has morphed to not only be alignment focused but to also include emphasis on increased breath awareness as the body responds to movement and meditation to channel the mind away from energy draining negativity and refocus on positivity and gratitude.

Holly is currently involved in several national studies with the Cleveland Clinic and Boston Medical Center on yoga’s impact on chronic pain, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. She facilitates and teaches yoga during a variety of Shared Medical Appointments both virtually and in-person as well as teaches stress reduction and mindful movement classes to Clinic caregivers. She also works with lung transplant patients at Main Campus helping them learn gentle stretching and relaxation techniques to enable more effective breath and restorative rest to foster a quicker recovery from surgery.

The most rewarding part of teaching yoga for Holly is hearing that participants achieve relief from stress and pain after practice with an intent to include yoga as a consistent part of their lifestyle for continued, lifelong benefits.
