Overview
Please Note: This workshop is for Cleveland Clinic Caregivers only.
This workshop is designed to engage and educate participants in the meaning and work of evidence-based practice. Faculty are seasoned PhD-prepared nurse scientists who lead and mentor clinical nursing teams in research and the evaluation and application of evidence. Workshop attendees will increase their knowledge and skill in searching, critiquing and synthesizing evidence – foundational steps that are critical to evidence-based practice.
Through didactic, hands-on activities, and interactive discussion with course faculty, workshop attendees will:
- Formulate a PICO(T) question.
- Search relevant databases to identify evidence that best answers a PICO(T) question.
- Critically appraise one research paper for strength and quality.
- Determine if the evidence supports an EBP change after examining the totality of evidence reviewed for one PICO(T) question.
- Describe two translation (diffusion) processes and resources needed to adopt real-world evidence into clinical practice.
