Research Interests

With extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Siedlecki has several research interests and conducts quantitative and qualitative research studies. She has researched the professional practice environment, the management of chronic pain syndromes, the use of CAM therapy by healthcare professionals, and the long-term effects of an Accreta Birth Experience on women and their spouses. Her research on the professional practice environment resulted in the first scale to accurately assess the positive aspects of the professional practice environment. She also completed an RCT that demonstrated the impact of a self-administered music intervention on perceptions of power, pain, depression, and disability in working-age adults (18-65) with a long-standing history of chronic non-malignant pain. Dr. Siedlecki has a personal interest in the Accreta Birth Experience and teamed up with the Hope for Accreta Foundation to conduct a large (N>900) international mixed-methods study exploring the long-term consequences of this experience on women and their spouses. Most recently, Dr. Siedlecki has developed an instrument that assesses behaviors to measure nurses' degree of professional and organizational engagement.
